LOS ANGELES – Just days after the Paris terror attacks, Alek Skarlatos thrilled the crowd at "Dancing with the Stars" by performing a patriotic waltz to "America the Beautiful."
No celebrity was eliminated on Monday night in a show-ending surprise and Skarlatos advanced to next week's finale with the three other competitors. The hero who subdued a suspected terrorist on a Paris train this summer found himself thinking about the City of Lights dealing with darkness again.
When asked backstage by FOX411 what America should do about ISIS, Skarlatos said, "I'd say kill them all but that takes money and lives, so we'll see. I don't know. There's no easy call, obviously."
Army National Guardsman Skarlatos shot to fame with his longtime buddies Spencer Stone and Anthony Sadler after they courageously jumped up and stopped a gunman with an AK-47 while traveling on a train from Amsterdam to Paris.
But sadly, worse was to come as this Friday, more terror hit Paris in coordinated attacks.
Skarlatos used his emotion to pay tribute to America and France through dance--and Judge Bruno Tonioli raved that he looked like "a gliding eagle" with partner Lindsay Arnold. He earned a strong score of 57 out of 60 for his three dances of the night.
Regarding the waltz, Skarlatos said, "We wanted to do something patriotic and I think it all came together pretty well. I liked it. Having my whole family here [to watch] was great. My grandpa came out for the show tonight, and Mike Moustakas [of the Kansas City Royals]."
After the show, Skarlatos told reporters about making it through to the grand finale, "I'm so lucky. I'm so glad I have Lindsay as a partner and she took me this far."
Also during the show, Skarlatos did a trios dance, performing with both Arnold and another pro, his "DWTS" crush, Emma Slater.
Earlier this season, Skarlatos performed with Slater during "switch up" week and hoped for a romance, but, as he told FOX411 a few weeks ago, he found out she's "spoken for."
